Ledbetter Folk Art Auction
Matt Ledbetter started his Auction Career when he was 5 years old. Buying Pottery out of basements with his father, a Legendary door knock picker. Matt attained a North Carolina Auctioneer License in 2006 but held off opening an auction house until January of 2020. Instead, he opened a folk art gallery where a quarterly event is held that focuses on offering premium folk art collections at auction. We work for our sellers in that we travel and pick up consignments, bring them to the gallery and display, advertise, and work hard to get these items into the hands of end users. For the buyer we strive to always have authentic material only taking in quality items with pure provenance. I am always accessible through phone or text at 336.524.1077 - Matt Ledbetter
*** Note About Shipping ***
I AM AN AUCTIONEER NOT A SHIPPING COMPANY. HOWEVER.... to combat the high prices charged by 3rd party shippers and to keep our customers happy we DO OFFER IN HOUSE SHIPPING. DO NOT GET LOUD with us on shipping times. After each auction we have the job of packing and shipping over 450 fragile items. WE PACK ON AVERAGE 80 to 100 boxes a week. DO THE MATH and you will see that it takes 5 - 6 weeks to complete an auctions worth of shipping. Once an invoice is paid we will pack it up and fedex label and you will recieve a shipping invoice. THIS INVOICE WILL HAVE A FEDEX TRACKING NUMBER ON IT. After you pay that invoice your package will be taken to the Fedex Drop Off.
Shipping Steps
1) pay your live auctioneers invoice.
2) after your invoice registers paid, we will stamp it and send to the packing room where its boxed and fedexed labled.
3) you will be emailed a shipping invoice, once that is paid it will be taken to fedex drop off
****** WE ONLY PACK ITEMS 33" or less that don't weigh a lot. if you have furniture or large paintings/items they need to be picked up
*** PICKUP TIMES ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY mon - thur 9:30 to 3
anyone picking up that isn't listed on the LiveAuctioneers invoice must provide a printed paid invoice. If you send someone to pick up and they don't have printed paperwork your items will not be released.

Very easy purchase
Shipping was done in house, was fast, and was reasonable. Very pleasant employees I dealt with both times. Items were as pictured.

One of the best auction houses for American folk art
Ledbetter always has an outstanding selection of folk art in every auction. I especially appreciate that they typically offer a nice selection of North Carolina and southern ceramic artwork. One of the best features of the house, though, is that they do the shipping, so a buyer does not have to contact a shipper and arrange for pick-up and shipping of items. Their shipping charges are reasonable and items are well packed. Plus, they are prompt. And if you ever have to speak with anyone there, you will find helpful, friendly staff.

Ledbetter was concerned with my satisfaction
I won a small, brass lamp base for approx. $7.00 and asked Ledbetter to package the item and have it shipped to me. Though the lamp base is small, it is heavy and after packaging my item it was determined that the shipping was going to cost 3 times the the cost of the lamp base. A representative called me and asked if I'd like to make other arrangements. I chose to ship with them, but was very impressed that they were concerned about my overall satisfaction.

Bark worse than the bite:)
Item accurately described and photographed. Despite dire warnings from the auction house about how long it would take to pack and ship items, this actually arrived rather quickly (albeit without warning). The shipping cost was reasonable (for an auction house). I would participate again in Ledbetter auctions.

PROFESSIONAL
I've purchased from Ledbetter many times now. They have always answered any questions and their shipping department is very professional. I never hesitate to deal with them.
